Business Development Tips & Tricks

Winning the Battle, but Losing the War!

When you are in a negotiation for a contract, whether you will be the supplier or the customer, being clear on your non-negotiable limits is paramount to ensure you don't make a bad deal. Committing to those limits are important so you don't crumble under pressure. But what if your emotional involvement overrides this ability to stay firm?

  1. Make yourself accountable to someone else. This may be a team member, business partner, or the best of all... your spouse.
  2. If at all possible, do not enter a negotiation call without that person on the call with you.
  3. Sometimes you may need to find an experienced negotiator to take your place!

Launching Your Web site: Go Live!

Launching your new web site is exciting. Like the days of old, you are gaining instant visibility to whole world. Getting a site to your go-live date is a lot of work. But unlike days of old, your work is just beginning.

Here are some Tips and Tricks for your new site. Search engines rank your site on relevance and popularity. Once your site is indexed, you will know how well your site ranks by its position in search rankings.

  1. Get a SEMRush or SimilarWeb account and get a technical SEO report for your site. This report will tell you all of the technical issues your site has. Make those changes first.
  2. Once your site errors are fixed, look into your content and make sure you are crisp and concise in your message. Make sure each page has unique subject matter.
  3. Lastly, make the necessary changes to your tags: Title, description and other metatags, Open Graph tags, and Schema Json+ld script to improve your rankings
  4. Write a Press Release and get the backlinks flowing from reputable news sites.

Ultimately, I would hope your digital marketing agency has already started the work. InnovationWorx handles your first month of SEO for FREE. My last Tip is to remember to update your content often so that it does not grow stale.

Be More Productive & Reduce Cost

Digital Transformation is a BIG deal. But most business owners do not comprehend what it is and just how many benefits await them. Incorporating cloud technologies and AI into your business forms the basis of your journey, but yet again, I have just introduced two more terms that business owners do not understand.

Responsible Entrepreneurs are not going to adopt something into their businesses that they do not understand so today's Tech-Tip are:

  1. Contact Bailey & Associates, LLC. to aid you in your journey. I offers a FREE Strategy Call so you can get answers to your questions.
  2. Sign up for Shawn Bailey's Small Business Insights Weekly. We are going to talk about this each week.

Yes, I know these last two Tips seem a little self-serving, but I assure you that calling Bailey & Associates is the best call you will make in a long, long time. I also know you will enjoy my Premium Content as we discuss business, technology, strategy, and solve problems together.
